 Gogovivi handbags are designed and built by Kiley Ariail, a former scientist who became a self-taught designer after she moved with her family from Portland, Oregon to Busan, South Korea. After three years and another international move, she currently resides in Qingdao, in Northern China. Kiley likes design and science for some of the same reasons: they both require creative thinking and an innovative approach to solving problems, they both satisfy her curiosity, and they both require uncompromising attention to detail. Kiley comes from a family of seriously talented artists and crafters. Her father is a luthier, woodworker, painter, and sculptor. Her mother is a designer of children's wear. Her brother and sister share in the talent. Their skills range from costume design to cabinetry. All gogovivi bags are limited editions, and many are one-of-a kind. Many use top-quality Korean leathers salvaged from the footwear industry, an environmentally sensible way to reduce waste. Because each bag is handmade, supplies are limited and all styles and colors shown may not be available at any given time.
