Our Fourth of July in Qingdao consisted of:
- No Red, White, and Blue
- No parades
- No Stars and Stripes, no Old Glory
- No anthems
- No hot dogs, BBQs, or apple pie
- No fireworks
It almost seems ironic that we heard no fireworks in Qingdao on July 4th, as there are fireworks pretty much every other day of the year...
- Playing with bubbles
- Enjoying the sunshine
- Thinking of friends and family and celebrations back home
- Thinking about the freedom and independence inherent in the posession of a U.S. passort
