There's no doubt about it, I'm a MWAC. Mom with a Camera. Its not the kindest of terms, and is used rather derogatorily around the blogosphere to describe people like me: amateurs turned professional wanna-bes, moms who are inspired by their children to hang up a shingle and call themselves professionals.
f/2.0 | 1/200 | ISO 800 | on-camera flash -2.0 FEV
But I embrace the term. I have little doubt that without Vivian, my photographic skills would not have developed like they have (though in my own defense, my return to SLR photography after a 15-year hiatus was inspired not by my child, but by New Zealand).
In honor of Mother's Day, I offer today's shot of my muse. She's why I keep shooting.
